On the 27th of April the Lithuanian Government approved the National Air Pollution Control Plan. Lithuania and other EU member states were assigned to prepare and implement this strategic document in order to achieve pollution reduction commitments for 2030.

Speaking at the Government session the minister of environment Kęstutis Mažeika emphasized the importance of this document by saying that the National Air Pollution Control Plan is not only our commitment for the EU but also the commitment to every Lithuanian Citizen who has the right for better air quality.

The greatest emphasis of this plan will be put on the transport sector which is the main polluter in Lithuania.

The National Air Pollution Control Plan should be reviewed at least once every four year and adjusted if necessary.
