On 12 October, 2019 new regulations came into effect. Every natural person who purchases a lower emission car will receive a compensation allowance of 1000 Euros.

On the 27th of April the Lithuanian Government approved the National Air Pollution Control Plan. Lithuania and other EU member states were assigned to prepare and implement this strategic document in order to achieve pollution reduction commitments for 2030.
