WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June. It was announced by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1972 as an opportunity to draw the attention of the world community to global and national environmental problems, urge politicians to take specific actions and promote civil environmental initiatives.
