Aira Paliukėnaitė
Viceminister of the Environment
| Aira Paliukėnaitė has served as Vice-Minister of Environment since July 2025. On 30 September 2025, she was reappointed to the position in the 20th Government of the Republic of Lithuania. She is a public policy and sustainable development professional. Her previous experience includes positions at Invest Lithuania, the Chancellery of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the Create Lithuania programme and the European Commission. She joined the Ministry of Environment in January 2025 as Adviser to the Minister of Environment. A. Paliukėnaitė holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Maastricht University and the United Nations University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Vilnius University. During her studies, she also gained academic experience in Belgium and Jordan. As Vice-Minister, she is responsible for nature conservation, climate policy, EU and international relations, and forest policy until a Vice-Minister responsible for this area is appointed. She also oversees the Kaunas Tadas Ivanauskas Museum of Zoology, the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, the Lithuanian Zoo and the State Service for Protected Areas. |
