Akvilė Gargasaitė

Viceminister of the Environment

 

Akvilė Gargasaitė serves as Vice-Minister of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania.

She has professional experience in waste management, environmental policy implementation and municipal governance. Before joining the Ministry, A. Gargasaitė worked as a division manager at the waste management companies Ekonovus and VSA Vilnius. She is also a member of the Šilalė District Municipal Council.

A. Gargasaitė holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.

As Vice-Minister, A. Gargasaitė is responsible for the coordination of environmental protection policy implementation, waste policy and pollution prevention policy.

She also oversees the Lithuanian Geological Survey and the Vaclovas Intas Stone Museum.
