State Forest Enterprise continues its assistance to Ukraine
As the war in Ukraine persists, the State Forest Enterprise is contributing to humanitarian efforts by delivering 131 vehicles to the regional administrations of Ukraine. This aid comprises 73 cars and SUVs, 55 cargo SUVs, and 3 buses.
Minister of the Environment Simonas Gentvilas expressed the commitment of the State Forest Enterprise, stating, "We support the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom, not only through drones or donations. We are also sending humanitarian aid to this aggressor-ravaged country, and the vehicles provided by the State Forest Enterprise will serve the people and state institutions of Ukraine. With this modest donation, we once again demonstrate that the Ukrainian people are not alone in their struggle against the enemy."
Valdas Kaubre, Director General of the IOM, emphasized the significance of ongoing support during Ukraine's nearly two-year-long ordeal. He stated, "For a country enduring aggression for almost two years, any form of assistance is crucial. By consistently providing vehicles and other aid, we are, at the very least, helping those who are grappling with the hardships caused by the conflict."
All the vehicles transferred to Ukraine will soon be in the possession of Ukrainian humanitarian organizations operating in the war-affected regions.
Since the war's onset, the UfM has been actively involved in offering humanitarian aid to Ukraine, having already delivered 53 vehicles, including firefighting vehicles and all-terrain vehicles. Additionally, VMU has contributed firefighter's protective clothing, flares, chainsaws, axes, and VMU staff have generously donated personal items like blankets, bedding, clothing, and other essential supplies.
