The Ministry of Environment invites to join the Sustainable Development Network

The Ministry of Environment is establishing a social partner network, the Sustainable Development Network, which will bring together representatives from institutions, municipalities, NGOs, the public, academia, and businesses interested in sustainable development.

The network has been formed in response to recommendations outlined in the Second Voluntary Sustainable Development Report, aimed at enhancing the governance of sustainable development. Its primary objective is to ensure the consistent relevance and implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Starting in 2024, network members will receive periodic newsletters addressing sustainable development issues in Lithuania and internationally directly in their email inboxes. These communications will also encompass discussions on various activities and proposals for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). If you wish to join the Sustainable Development Network, kindly complete the registration form.

Lithuania remains committed to achieving all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This year, Environment Minister Simonas Gentvilas presented Lithuania's Second Voluntary Sustainable Development Report at the United Nations Policy Forum in New York, assessing the country's progress from 2018 to 2023. The international community was provided with insights into Lithuania's accomplishments and the challenges it faces in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
