Vilnius to host the 20th General Assembly of the Nordic Geodetic Commission
From 14 to 17 September, the Ministry of Environment will host the 20th General Assembly of the Nordic Geodetic Commission. Held every four years in the format of an open conference, the General Assembly will take place in Lithuania for the first time.
This year’s theme is “Geodesy in a Challenged Environment.” The programme will include scientific presentations prepared within the Commission’s working groups, as well as results from geodetic projects and practical experience from the sector.
The Nordic Geodetic Commission brings together representatives of public authorities, data processing centres, universities and research institutions from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. Lithuania is represented on the Commission’s Presidium by the Ministry of Environment and the VILNIUS TECH Institute of Geodesy.
The Commission’s experts work in four groups: GNSS Positioning, Geodynamics and Earth Observation, Height and Geoid, and Reference Frames.

The Assembly will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre, Gedimino Ave. 44B, Vilnius. The working language of the event is English.
Registration is open until 17 August and is available here. Participants planning to give an oral or poster presentation are invited to submit the title and a brief summary here by 1 August.
